Session 4 :- eLearning practice in higher education
Hi all
E-learning practices in higher education have become increasingly popular due to their flexibility and accessibility. It allows students to access course materials and lectures at their own pace, leading to improved learning outcomes and engagement. I've discovered from this session that through online forums and virtual group projects, e-learning can additionally provide opportunities for collaboration and interaction between students and teachers. E-learning is a more inclusive educational strategy as it can accommodate a variety of learning preferences and styles.
In e-learning, microteaching sessions may help improve communication and the interaction between teachers and students, which will ultimately result in a more dynamic and engaging learning environment. The use of multimedia may also be used in e-learning to accommodate various learning styles and improve students' overall learning experience. The micro-led teaching discussion forum provided insight into how other conveners utilize their materials to instruct and design lesson plans that effectively meet the needs of each student. Additionally, in the current digital era, this method fosters critical thinking abilities and self-directed learning, both of which are necessary for academic achievement.
To help students learn online, facilitation is essential in leading them through the process and offering feedback and assistance to improve their knowledge. Multimedia and interactive components allow e-learning to accommodate a variety of learning styles and provide students with a more tailored and successful educational experience. This needs to be done in consideration of students' needs, therefore, the case study I have selected is Enhancing Equity and Inclusion in Higher Education e-assessment. This case study investigates how e-assessment technologies are used in higher education settings to support diversity and fairness. To provide more inclusive learning settings for all students, regardless of their origins or abilities, it highlights the need to utilize technology. Teachers can improve students' learning outcomes by using e-assessment technologies to give personalized feedback and assistance to students. The case study also addresses potential challenges and restrictions associated with e-assessment implementation in higher education.
